Darned snowplows.
Jan. 6th, 2010 09:53 pmWe had a beautifully warm and sunny day today, with temperatures in the mid-twenties, before the current snowstorm blew in from the west. I know people from California think I'm being sarcastic about the beautiful part, but when you get through several days of 4-degree lows and 15-degree highs, 25 degrees is a heat wave. Especially since we'll be heading right back to 0-degree lows tomorrow on top of the 4 to 6 inches of snow still falling. Forecast is for whiteout conditions due to wind and not more snow tomorrow; I brought our Canadian group accounting home with me just in case. Month-end and year-end close deadlines accept no excuses.
Work was frantic; I barely got five minutes to catch my breath all day, and I worked an hour past my normal time. I should probably be working now, like my boss is, but instead I am prescribing some therapeutic knitting with a dash of spinning. I'm full of beans (literally) and made-from-scratch cornbread. I have the space heater on and a fuzzy cat asleep on the carpet next to my desk.
The snowplow just ran in front of my house, but would it be horrible of me if I wished that we did get snowed in tomorrow, just for the day? Even if I did have to work anyway?
